Creativity is next to Godliness

Using Full Creative Abilities

Most of us have not been trained nearly enough in using our most important abilities.  I’m speaking of the abilities that make us sacred humans.

We were endowed with creative abilities, with the power of intuition and connection.  However, we have also been encouraged to believe we don’t have them.

We are taught to use problem solving skills, for the most part and encouraged to figure things out.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it's not the whole picture.

Life becomes much easier and enjoyable when we embrace who we really are - all of who we really are.

A group of my friends decided to connect by meeting for lunch.  We often met at places that  didn’t suit me.   I did my best to make these choices work.  I suggested other locations with some success.  My efforts to improve the situation sometimes worked.  Sometimes not.

Contrast this with my creation of a new group a few weeks later.  I initiated a meeting of my arts and crafts friends for some evenings of artwork and appetizers.  Several of us paint, snack and chit chat.  This gathering feels like a party for me.  I’m happy to provide food and space.

Compare the lunch, about which I have mixed feelings, to an artist’s group I like and look forward to.  The artists group was initiated by me and created around my love and interests and that of my fellow artists.

The lunch is nice but when it works for me, I’m often solving a problem.  Fixing and improving is quite different than creations. The solution may or may not bring happiness.

Although I have given you a very simple example of this difference, there are many ways a creation shows up differently than problem solving.

Although both groups were formed to connect, the focus of the lunch group is does not hold my interest.  The artist group is focused on an interest in art.  For me it is more fun and positive to think of art.

My creation is more expansive for me.  The conversation is engaging.  I quickly met a new friend.  It holds my interest even when people don’t show up or when my project isn’t working.

Problem solutions and compromises are based on making things work, and this is a good thing.  But creations, no matter how simple, are generally based on something the creator loves and that, by its nature brings satisfaction and even joy.

Create more of what you love in life.  Learn to use more of your superconscious mind, your intuitive magic and your ability to connect.

Start creating by making a list of what you love.  Mine looks (sort of) like this:

  • Good food

  • Trees

  • Peak performance hypnosis

  • Awareness

  • Music

  • Singing

  • Anomalies

  • Watercolors

  • Kayaking

  • and so forth

  • and so forth

Set the list aside.  Edit it over the next few days.

Pay attention what seem like random thoughts about what you love! This is where your intuition will start tossing out ideas and visions.

See what notions pop up about what you would like to create.  Capture and record the ideas  until you have a sense that you would like to create something.  Large or small, your creations come with a feeling of energy and satisfaction.

Empower yourself with creation.  You do not need to be at the mercy of a chaotic and scary  world, with its threats to your well being.
